The Li Ka-Shing Center for Biomedical and Health Sciences (Li Ka-Shing), is a science building located at the West Gate of the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) campus. The state-of-the-art facility was designed to support a collaborative model for biological research and teaching to advance solutions to the world's most pressing challenges in health. The Center's overarching goal is the study of the molecular basis for disease with a focus on cancer biology, stem cell biology, infectious disease, and neurodegenerative disease. UC Berkeley has named the building in honor of Mr. Li Ka-Shing in recognition of his generosity, which has helped to fuel the University's pioneering research in biomedical and health sciences.

Parking Information
At campus parking lots without an attendant, visitors are required to pay in advance at a pay station. Always refer to posted lot and machine signs for parking rates and instructions.
Hours of Operation: Monday–Sunday: 5:00 a.m. – 2:00 a.m. (Lots are closed 2:00 a.m. – 5:00 a.m.)

Hourly Pay Parking on Level 2 at all times only in Gold Zone on east side of Level 2 (enter from Scenic Ave)

Traveling to UC Berkeley
Traveling from UC Davis
Driving:
UC Davis is approximately 70 miles away from the UC Berkeley Li Ka-Shing Center and can be reached by taking the westbound I-80. Also, note that a bridge toll must be paid when driving through the bay area. Bridge tolls are automatically charged.

Davis-Berkeley Shuttle:
The Davis-Berkeley Shuttle provides transportation between the University of California Davis and Berkeley campuses for UCD/UCB faculty, staff, and registered students.

Public Transportation:
Davis has an Amtrak Station that connects to the Bay Area. The train route from DAV station to BKY station is about 1h19min one way and costs about $24 one way.
Traveling from UCSF
Driving:
UCSF is approximately 14 miles away from the UC Berkeley Li Ka-Shing Center and can be reached by taking the eastbound I-80. Also, note that a bridge toll must be paid when driving through the bay area. Bridge tolls are automatically charged.

Public Transportation:
BART: The BART from Civic Center / UN Plaza to Downtown Berkeley takes 27 min including transfers and departs every 30 minutes and costs $3-$5.
Traveling from Stanford
Driving:
Stanford is approximately 47 miles away from the UC Berkeley Li Ka-Shing Center and can be reached by taking the northbound I-280 and then eastbound I-80. Also, note that a bridge toll must be paid when driving through the bay area. Bridge tolls are automatically charged.​​

Public Transportation:
BART: You’ll need to take 2 bus lines and one BART line: take the DB bus from Stanford Oval station to Union City BART station. Next, you’ll have to switch to the ORANGE BART and finally take the 51B bus from Shattuck Av & Allston Way station to College at Haste station. The total trip duration for this route is approximately 1 hr 55 min. The ride fare is $10.65. Click here for more information.

TRANSIT PASS PROGRAM: Attendees from Stanford can used their Stanford issued Clipper card. The Clipper card will cover Caltrain far, but not the BART fare.
